Students were given an epidemic prevention item.

    The district officer promoted important COVID-19 prevention concepts, including wearing masks correctly, keeping social distance: 1.5 meters indoor and 1 meter outdoor; and seven steps of hand washing: palm, back of hand, between fingers, arching, thumb, finger tips, wrists in hope of students washing hands thoroughly and sharing the ideas with their families. Everyone works together on epidemic prevention. All are the little soldiers in this epidemic battle. Moreover, the office staff also promoted Dengue Fever and disaster prevention measures.

    Principal Cao at Dongshan Elementary School expressed his appreciation on the Office’s effort to educate the students about epidemic prevention during this unusual time and caring for the children’s health by handing out bags in which children could put personal epidemic prevention items or lunch boxes. The bag was very practical for the children. The school would encourage teachers and staff to continue to promote epidemic prevention and implement policies.

In response to the outbreak of COVID-19 and to avoid the risk of cluster infection, the briefing will be held in the front courtyard of Nanshi Xiangong Temple. District Officer Dong, Disaster Prevention Director Hou and Xiangong Temple Chairman Wu will lead section leaders, Manager and all attendees to worship for safety and peace. All attendees will take temperature, sanitize with alcohol and be seated in the shape of plum blossom for social distancing. The head nurse of Dongshan Health Department will teach the features of COVID-19, transmission paths, and prevention measures.

    To emphasize the importance of disaster prevention and effective actions in practice, all protected households within the potential landslide area in the district are invited to attend the briefing and Disaster Prevention Director Hou will have a presentation on the importance of spontaneous landslide disaster prevention to introduce the basic concepts of the five major approaches of disaster prevention.

The purpose of the training is to make the section leaders, managers and staff of the disaster control center to familiarize with the operation of portable broadcast station, radio post broadcast, and the whole district broadcast.

    The training course is totally free and all are encouraged to apply.

    The Department of Animal Protection now offers stationed services for rabies vaccination and pet registration. Dongshan District is scheduled for the services between 9A.M. and 12P.M. in the morning of every 2nd Wednesday each month. The session for July will be held at the social affairs section (previously the township citizen representative meeting) of the district on the 10th (Wednesday) on the first floor. All township citizens are encouraged to bring their cats and dogs for vaccination this day.
